Standby Log — Final State (CIP v0.2.1)

Every research program eventually reaches a point where continuing requires more than curiosity. It requires validation, resources, and a sustainable path forward.

For the current Pyragogy research cycle, that point has been reached.

Active research is now entering an indefinite standby state. No development roadmap is planned, no future milestones are scheduled, and no commitment is being made regarding when—or whether—active development will resume.

Rather than leaving unfinished work behind, we chose to conclude this phase by publishing its final research artifact.

The Cognitive Interview Protocol (CIP) v0.2.1 is now publicly available.

The Artifact

CIP is not a theoretical paper.

It is an operational protocol designed to support structured cognitive interviews between humans and AI systems. Within the Pyragogy ecosystem, it provides the methodology that allows the agent behind Pyragogy Syllabus to participate in knowledge construction as a collaborative peer, updating and refining a shared knowledge graph through traceable dialogue rather than isolated question answering.

Version 0.2.1 represents the final published state of this research cycle.

Current System State

At the time of writing:

• Active research has been paused indefinitely.
• All public repositories remain available under their existing licenses.
• Documentation, protocols, and architectural patterns remain accessible for study, critique, implementation, or extension.
• The commercial validation phase has concluded.
• Obliqo remains online, but active commercial development has been suspended. It will most likely continue as an internal tool supporting Pyragogy members rather than as a standalone commercial product.

No material has been removed or placed behind a paywall. The work produced during this research cycle remains publicly accessible.

What Happens Next

There is currently no planned CIP v0.3.

If future collaborators, researchers, or communities find value in these ideas, they have access to the complete foundation on which they were built.

If no further development occurs, the repositories will remain as a permanent public record of the questions explored, the methods developed, and the architectural decisions that shaped the project.

This publication should therefore be understood not as a conclusion, but as the documented final state of the current research cycle.

Discussion

One lesson from this project is that meaningful discussion is often easier in open, asynchronous communities than within traditional mailing lists.

To give these ideas a persistent space to be tested and challenged, I created a dedicated subreddit: r/Pyragogy.

This channel is neither a support forum nor a product announcement board. It is designed as an open operational space where anyone interested in peer learning, AI-mediated workflows, knowledge graphs, or the broader Pyragogy framework can exchange practices, dissect failure modes, and explore future directions.

Whether Pyragogy continues to evolve will ultimately depend less on its original authors than on the people who decide these ideas are worth examining further in the wild.

To everyone who supported Pyragogy over the years—whether by reading, questioning, contributing, testing, discussing, or simply encouraging the work—thank you.

Research is rarely a solitary effort. Every conversation, every critique, every suggestion, and every expression of support helped shape this project in ways that are difficult to measure.
